Significant personalities of Crete that contributed in the development of Vikelas Municipal Library as well as the development of Art and Literature in Crete, talk about several historical, cultural and literary issues in radio shows, lectures and interviews.
The city of Heraklion honours Stiliano Alexioy and Fotis Kafatos: The city of Heraklion honours Stiliano Alexioy and Fotis Kafatos with the prize of "High Morality" in 7 July 2004 at the chamber «Androgeo». Two lecture are given during the ceremony. The first by Manolis Karelis with the subject: «Stylianos Alexioy» and the second by George Grammatikakis with the subject: «Fotis Kafatos».
Stergios Spanakis: During the ceremony that took place in 18 February 2004 at the chamber Androgeo 2 speaches were made for the honour of Stergios Spanakis. Manolis Karelis talks about: «The life and work of Stergios Spanakis» and Stylianos Alexioy about: «The cretan studies of Stergios Spanakis».
