To set the date of the marriage ceremony the prospective bride and groom should fill in and sign a joint application in our offices.

In accordance with of sex equality legislation the couple must declare the surname of their prospective children before the marriage takes place. They can choose either of their surnames or if they prefer, both; however they can not use more than two surnames for their children.

The charge for the marriage ceremony amounts to 100 Euros. (Decision 906/2007).

Two witnesses over 18, one for each, must attend the marriage ceremony and sign the marriage certificate. The witnesses could be close family members or friends. For foreign nationals a piece of identification is deemed necessary.
